Project Description

  • The City of Hollywood’s Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant is rated at 46.3 million gallons per day (MGD) and treats water from the cities of Hollywood, Davie, and Cooper City. Some of this treated wastewater is reused for irrigation. Reuse continues to expand as municipalities move towards greater sustainability and this project increased the usability and flexibility of the City’s existing reuse system.

Project Scope

  • The work included structural rehabilitation of the 143,000-gallon Equalization Basins No. 1 & 2, which included concrete demolition, rebar repair, concrete restoration, application of a waterproof coating system, and leak repair using injection. A 24-inch DIP was installed from Basins No. 1 & 2 to the existing 24-inch DIP reject line. A new aluminum staircase was installed, existing utilities relocated and other miscellaneous work was performed.

Project Cost

  • $ 637,292
